Afecto al estudio de la bot\u00e1nica y la horticultura, reuni\u00f3 en ese sitio varias especies de plantas en varios jardines; puso dos albercas, terrazas a diversos niveles, rampas, escalinatas, fuentes y juegos de agua al estilo franc\u00e9s. <\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit; color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Tiene una iglesia aleda\u00f1a que Borda construyera tambi\u00e9n antes de 1778, lugar donde muri\u00f3. A la muerte de \u00e9ste el 30 de Mayo de 1778, el parque se transforma en un lugar recreativo y jard\u00edn bot\u00e1nico, que ya en ese entonces contaba con cientos de variedades de arboles frutales y plantas de ornato. <\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit; color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Las obras del jard\u00edn Borda incluyendo el lago interior se terminaron en 1783. En 1784 de construyo la vecina iglesia de Guadalupe. <\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit; color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El lugar se hizo famoso, adem\u00e1s de por sus jardines,por los libros y los art\u00edculos que los visitantes que se alojaron en \u00e9l escribieron acerca del mismo. La residencia nunca perdi\u00f3 su atractivo y en 1865, despu\u00e9s de un viaje a Yucat\u00e1n, los emperadores Maximiliano y Carlota Amalia seleccionaron este lugar como su residencia de verano.
